Tips and Tricks for Motorcycle Riders

Tips and Tricks for Motorcycle Riders,

Plan your Route Before Motorcycle Trip

Before you head on to the motorcycle road trips:

  1. Take some time to plan your route.
  2. Keep all the factors at the center of planning, such as weather forecasts, traffic, road construction, route diversion, scenic views, etc.
  3. Don’t fall for short routes; pick the route with the winding curves and breathtaking scenery to maximize your riding experience.

Invest in Riding Gear

It doesn’t matter whether you’re an experienced rider or a new nomad planning their first motorcycle trip; having high-quality riding gear is a must for everyone. According to a report, riders with proper riding gear have a 70 times less chance of injury. Ensure your riding gear, helmet, gloves, jacket, boots, and pants are comfortable and reliable for the entire trip.

Maintain your Bike

Marinating your motorcycle should be none other than your responsibility. Your motorcycle will be your only companion on the trip. Before heading out to the road with your motorcycleensure your bike is in top condition and comfortable for the entire ride. If you doubt your bike’s condition or don’t find it comfortable for a long trip, you can personalize your rideRemember the T-CLOCK checking pattern (Tyres, clutch, lock, oil/fluid, control, and kickstand).

Learn to Read Traffic and Hand Signs

Traffic signals ensure the safety of riders and pedestrians. Motorcyclists should know all the traffic signals before planning a road trip. Along with traffic signals, there are hand signals on motorcycles, which old-school riders use to communicate with other riders. Knowing these hand signals is as important as knowing traffic rules to ensure an enhanced riding experience.

Don’t Push Your Limits

Long rides are physically demanding, and riders should understand that pushing their limits can result in unwanted scenarios and crashes. Take frequent breaks, stretch your legs, rest, give your motorcycle trip some rest too, and always pack healthy snacks and water with you.

Ride in MotorcycleGroup

Group rides give camaraderie; you can join local motorcyclist communities and join them on the trip to share experiences and learn new things. Joining communities is also a great way to meet like-minded people and plan an international trip with them. If you’re an experienced rider, you can also use the RidingMoto app to create your biker community.

Carry Essentials

As a rider, I always prepare for all conditions. I do make a T-CLOCK checkup before heading the road. However, I still carry toolkits and essential parts of the motorcycle with me, so if in case my motorcycle gets broken down in the mid-riding, I can repair it and take it to a mechanic shop or service center. It will help if you keep a foot pump, tire tubes, clutch cable, accelerator cable, and a toolkit with you on a motorcycle trip. You might not always need these essentials, but they can save your ride from being adventurous to disastrous or getting stuck somewhere.

Respect Nature and Local Communities

Motorcycle riders’ communities are well-praised by people as they can be seen helping people every time. Always respect nature and local communities, dispose of your garbage, don’t make excessive noise, and always use the designated trails and routes. Also, ask locals for hidden gems or local cuisines to try.

Reflect and Learn

This is where most riders lack, even the experienced ones. Whenever you complete your motorcycle trip and reach back home, take some time to reflect on your experience and the lessons you’ve learned and set goals for your next trip.

To make the most of your motorcycle journey, I recommend installing and using RidingMoto—a comprehensive mobile app designed specifically for motorcycle enthusiasts.
